Born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, December 17, 1937. Attended Manchester High School; Johns Hopkins University; Catonsville Community College; Frederick Community College. Former real estate agent, master gas fitter, master electrician. President Miller Gas Co., Inc., 1965-89. Member, Carroll County Democratic Central Committee, 1990- (chair, 1997-2001); North Carroll Democratic Club; Carroll County Democratic Club; Lineboro-Manchester Lion's Club. Married; three children.
