Born in Brunswick, Maryland, September 24, 1930. Attended Brunswick High School and St. James School; Kenyon College, A.B., 1952. Served in U.S. Army, 1952-54. University of Maryland School of Law, LL.B., 1958. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1958. Member, Maryland State Bar Association (chair, family & juvenile law section, 1966-68, 1970-71; board of governors, 1972-73); Frederick County Bar Association (president, 1972; vice-president, 1971; secretary, 1961-70); American Judicature Society. Fellow, Maryland Bar Foundation.
