In 2000, the General Assembly created the Task Force on the Prince George's County Transfer Tax Rate (Chapter 444, Acts of 2000). The Task Force reviewed the transfer tax rate in Prince George's County, and how that rate affects citizens, businesses, and schools.

The Task Force reported to the Chair of the Prince George's County House Delegation, and the Chair of the Prince George's County Senate Delegation on January 9, 2001.
