JAMES T. BRADY

During his service as Maryland's Secretary of Business and Economic Development, Mr. Brady streamlined the Department of Business and Economic Development. He oversaw the transfer of its labor-related functions to the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation, thereby enabling his Department to focus on economic development.

Mr. Brady also worked closely with the Governor's Economic Development Commission to create Maryland's first statewide strategic plan for economic development. The plan is called "Strategic Directions for Increasing Maryland's Competitiveness." Since the plan's introduction, Mr. Brady has traveled the state extensively promoting its twin goals - to make Maryland business friendly and to create, retain, and attract jobs.
