Born in Cleveland, Ohio, November 2, 1965. University of Rochester, B.S. (electrical engineering), with honors, 1988. Certificate, Academy of Excellence in Local Government, University of Maryland, College Park, 2005. Full-time legislator. Former telecommunications manager. Vice-President, Kensington Historical Society, 2001-03. Member, Legislative Committee, Maryland Municipal League, 2006-07. Board of Directors, Committee for Montgomery, 2006-07; District 18 Caucus, Montgomery County Democratic Party, 2006-07; African-American Democratic Club of Montgomery County, 2006-; Maryland Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials. Charter member, Coalition of Kensington Communities (co-chair, traffic & transportation committee). Member, Montgomery Preservation, Inc.; Sierra Club; Maryland League of Conservation Voters. Municipal Super Star Award, Maryland Municipal League, 2008. Married; two children.
