Attended Plainview High School, Plainview, New York; American University, B.A. (school of international service), 1970; Washington College of Law, American University, J.D., 1974. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1975; District of Columbia Bar, 1975. Attorney. Partner, Auerbach & Simmons. Member, Maryland State Bar Association; Montgomery County Bar Association. General counsel for U. S. Representative Newton I. Steers, 1976-78. Former executive director, Montgomery-Prince George's Continuing Legal Education Institute, Inc. Former member, Community Advisory Council, Tri-Services Center for Children with Learning Disabilities. Co-editor, Discrimination and the Addict: Notes Toward a General Theory of Addiction Rehabilitation (1973). Editor, Drugs, Politics, and Diplomacy: The International Connection (1974). Married, two children.
