Member, Montgomery County Chapter, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP); Greater Burtonsville Kiwanis. Charter member, Columbia Road Citizens Association (president, 1986-94). Board of Directors, Diabetes Action Research and Education (DARE), Inc., 1993-.
